To host a successful and most importantly SAFE event, Covid precaution and safety measures will be in place and enforced at the event.  We all want outdoor running events to make a successful return in South Florida.  In order to do so we all must work together to be safe and comply with the recommended guidelines by the CDC and our local government.  The measures we are asking everyone to adhere to have become commonplace in our everyday lives over the past year.  Your Safety, and the Safety of others is paramount during these times.  In the content below we list the guidelines that must be adhered to at all areas of the event weekend including the Expo, Start/Finish areas of the Events, along with the run courses.  For a more detailed summary and information, please click the following link for the Complete Covid Safety Plan

*** If you are uncomfortable attending an In-Person event that you are registered for, please email us through the Contact Form on the website.  Participants have the option to defer at no charge to the 2022 event, as well as change to a Virtual Option for 2021.

Covid Safety Measures

* Participant Health Responsibility

If you have a fever or feel sick prior to the event weekend, please do not attend.  Email us through the Contact Form of the website and we will facilitate a Deferral at no charge to the 2022 event

* Staggered & Distanced Start

All events will feature a distanced and staggered start with Small Waves of 20 or less Participants.  There will NOT be a mass start! Runners will enter the Start Corral 20 at a time, standing 6ft apart within the Corral.  Each Wave will start every 10 seconds

* NO SHUTTLE BUSES!

There will be no Shuttle Buses for the 2021 Event.  Our Marathon & Half Marathon courses have been redesigned to Start & Finish from our Traditional Beach Location

* No Gear Check

Points of Contact are being kept to a minimum.  Therefore, Gear Check Will Not be offered.  Our courses Start & Finish from the same location, so belongings should be kept in cars

* No Award Ceremony for the 2021 Events

Award Ceremonies promote Gathering.  For Safety Measures, there will be no award ceremonies at any of the events.  If you qualified for an Award, please email us after the event so the Award can be shipped to your home

* Masks/Facial Coverings

Masks are required to be worn at all areas of the event weekend when not running, inclusive of the Expo/Packet Pickup, Start Line, Finish/Post-race area.  Once you start on your run, masks can be removed, but must be reapplied at the Finish.

* Social Distancing

Please maintain the recommended Social Distancing of 6 feet and avoid gathering in Groups

* Avoid Physical Contact

We request that participants avoid physical contact, such as handshakes and embraces, promoting alternative ways to greet each other

* Sanitizer

Hand Sanitizer will be available throughout the areas of the event weekend

* Non-contact Registration

Registration for all events must be completed online via the website.  No paper registrations or pens will be available for use at the Expo or Race Day

* Water & food Distribution

We ask that attendees and participants do not grab food or water items.  Please allow a volunteer or Staff member to distribute items.  Points of Contact will be kept to a minimum.  This includes Aid Stations along the course.  Please take beverages from a volunteer who will be wearing a mask and gloves

* Aid Station Volunteers

 Volunteers at all Aid Stations along the run courses and Finish Lines will wear masks and protective gloves.  Please take a beverage from the volunteer and do not touch water tables or cups

* Limited Event Capacity

The Capacity for the 2021 Event weekend will be limited to 50% of our traditional capacity.  The capacity will be 3,500 participants

* Timely Exit of the Event Sites

This is a strange request from us 😉 Our Event is known for its post- race party.  As we much as we enjoy this aspect of the event, we ask that participants take care of their refueling and food needs and do not overly linger at the post race area.  As we mentioned there will be no award ceremony this year.  If you are waiting for a friend or family member, please maintain distancing in the area.  There is ample room on the beach to spread out and feel safer.
